This video work uses open source MS-DOS emulation software and granular synthesis to briefly explore the relationship between order .
The program draws from the mathematical study of chaotic systems, or “chaos theory.” (James Gleick’s Chaos).
Here I am using the ATTRACT program within this software: “A Strange Attractors program showing the Lorenz Attractor, the Logistic Map, the Yorke Attractors, and the Henon Attractors“ (via Github).
An original piano soundtrack is processed through two granular synthesizers to further dither the experience.

I would enter a program, and since this only produced single frames, I would use the keyboard to go frame by frame, creating an animation. I then took these videos, cropped them, and edited them together. What you see is the original screen recording.
